What Say You About the Eucharist?

As a grassroots movement, the National Eucharistic Revival (NER) is really about changing hearts for Christ, one at a time, in and through the Eucharist. In support of this there will be various speakers with particular expertise featured at events across the nation, diocese and parishes.

But we also want to hear from you! Personal testimony plays a critical role in evangelization and the same is true with the Eucharist. We invite you (adults, kids, teens and clergy) to share with our diocese how the Eucharist has changed your life and continues to bring you closer to God. If we choose to feature your video, you will be notified of the dates when it will run on this webpage.

Technical Guidelines for Video Testimonials

1. Videos should be no more than two minutes long.
2. Keep it simple; recordings using a cell phone are sufficient.
3. Post your video to one of the following platforms and tag the Diocese of Lafayette in Indiana:
   • YouTube
   • Facebook
   • Instagram
   • Vimeo
   • TikTok
4. Be sure to follow the platform’s sharing permissions protocol for video embedding.
5. Complete our video submission form and be sure to read and check the box for diocesan permission for usage. (Form)
6. Make sure you can be seen and heard (no background noises and use good lighting).
7. Consider your surroundings on the video (be sure it is tasteful and not offensive).

Substantive Guidelines for Eucharistic Testimonies

DO:

1. Share about how the Eucharist has drawn you or your family closer to Jesus.
2. Speak about one of the NER themes of the Eucharistic gifts of:
   • The Eucharist as the sacrifice of Christ
   • The real presence of Christ in the Eucharist
   • Communion with Christ and the whole Church in the Eucharist
3. Speak about one of the NER themes of our response to the Eucharist:
   • Thanksgiving and worship 
   • Transformation (how the Eucharist makes us holy like Christ)
   • Conversion (how the Eucharist leads us to repentance)
   • Food for the Journey (how the Eucharist strengthens us as we walk in faith) 
4. Share how adoration of the Eucharist has impacted your spiritual life.

DO NOT:

1. Make judgements on who should or should not receive the Eucharist (you may share your own experiences when you may have thought your own disposition was not ready to partake of the Eucharist)
2. Make judgements on the appropriate manner for the reception of the Eucharist (i.e., on the tongue, on the hand, or at an altar rail, etc.)
3. Make judgements on the form of the Mass (Ordinary, Latin, etc.)
